Pentagon Co-Workers Construct Stained Glass Windows to Honor the Victims of the September 11, 2001 Attack on the Pentagon.

Texas Art Glass Studio Creates 4 New Windows for the Pentagon Memorial Chapel

FREDERICKSBURG, TX August, 2003 -- IHS Studios creates four new Memorial Stained Glass Windows for the Pentagon. During the first week of September 2003, four representatives of IHS Studios will travel to the Pentagon, bringing with them the designs and materials to create four new windows for the Pentagon Memorial Chapel.

In November 2001, IHS Studios was asked by the U.S. Army's Office of Chief of Chaplains to design and craft a memorial glass art window in honor of those who perished on September 11, 2001. IHS Studios designed the window, which was then hand assembled by over 400 military chaplains in March of 2002. The Memorial Stained Glass Window now resides in the Pentagon Memorial Chapel, which was built at the site where terrorists crashed hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

This summer, the U.S. Army's Office of Chief of Chaplains contacted IHS Studios founder and chief artisan, Dennis Roberts, and requested that he design four new windows to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon. IHS Studios was honored by this second request and proudly rose to the occasion to design and craft the new windows. Each window depicts different symbols of hope, strength, re-growth and oaths of service as well as America's love of God and Country.

In the footsteps of the first window designed by IHS Studios, which was assembled by military chaplains, the new windows will be assembled by the co-workers of the victims who perished in the September 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon. Each Co-Worker will place a glass piece into one of the windows. The windows will then be placed in the Pentagon Memorial Chapel. A dedication service for these windows will be held on September 11, 2003 in the Pentagon Memorial Chapel.

As a symbol of support and patriotism, IHS Studios provided the design work, artisan labor and materials as a donation to this project.
